Progress in the surgical management of short bowel syndrome

  • With the increase of the incidence and diagnostic rates of intestinal diseases in recent years, the incidence of short bowel syndrome also trends to increase. Surgical treatment is an important method for the treatment of short bowel syndrome, and it includes surgery for complications, surgery to improve intestinal motility, surgery to prolong the intestinal transit, surgery for intestinal tapering and lengthening and intestinal transplantation. In this article, new surgical management methods for short bowel syndrome were reviewed.
