Abstract
One of the most common complications after pancreatic resection is pancreatic fistula, which may lead to intra-abdominal infection, bleeding and sepsis, and is also an important cause of postoperative death. There has been a widespread controversy on the fistula prevention and drainage management. The pancreatic fistula management strategy should be individualized based on the operation methods and patients′ general conditions. Focus on the two regular procedures: the pancreatoduodenectomy and distal pancreatectomy, this article will discuss the risk recognition, intraoperative prevention and drainage management strategy of pancreatic fistula respectively.
