One of the most common complications after pancreatic resection is pancreatic fistula, which may lead to intra-abdominal infection, bleeding and sepsis, and is also an important cause of postoperative death. There has been a widespread controversy on the fistula prevention and drainage management. The pancreatic fistula management strategy should be individualized based on the operation methods and patients′ general conditions.
