Minimally invasive surgery is the development trend of surgery. Laparoscopic surgery has advantages of small trauma, slight systemic reaction and quick postoperative recovery of patients. In order to promote the development of laparoscopic hepatectomy in China, the Hepatic Surgery Group of Chinese Medical Association composed the Expert consensus on laparoscopic hepatectomy and guideline for operative procedure (2013 edition) based on a thorough discussion of 60 experts in the field of hepatic surgery. In the “Expert consensus” part, the types of laparoscopic hepatectomy, surgical methods, surgical indications and contraindications, preoperative preparation, anesthesiamethods, surgical equipments and instruments, operative posture, pneumoperitoneum pressure, trocars position, control of hepatic outflow and inflow, indications for conversion to open surgery were introduced. In the “guideline” part, techniques and procedures of various laparoscopic hepatectomies were concluded.
