Advances in minimally invasive techniques for liver transplant recipient surgery

Minimal invasiveness has become a major trend in the development of liver transplantation surgery. With the continuous advancement of high-definition laparoscopes, energy-based surgical instruments, and robotic platforms, coupled with the accumulation of surgical experience, minimally invasive techniques centered on laparoscopy have achieved substantial breakthroughs in liver transplant recipient surgeries. From improvements in surgical incisions to the integration of laparoscopy, and on to the initial application of robotic technology, the trauma burden on recipients has continued to decrease, and the postoperative recovery process has significantly accelerated. From the perspective of liver transplant recipients, the authors review the surgical path-ways, technical key points, and core challenges associated with laparoscopy and related minimally invasive techniques, aiming to provide guidance for the standardized development of this field.
