Expert consensus on whole‑process management of esophageal cancer (2025 edition)

  • As one of the malignant tumors with high morbidity and mortality, esophageal cancer seriously threatens the life and health safety of our residents. With the innovation and deve-lopment of diagnosis and treatment modes, the overall survival cycle of esophageal cancer patients has gradually increased, and its prognosis and survival quality have become the focus of attention nowadays. The whole‑process management is a multidisciplinary, comprehensive and continuous individualized management mode, which has been proved to be effective in improving prognosis of patients. However, there is a lack of uniform standards and specifications on the implementation process and content of the whole process of pre‑hospital, perioperative and post‑discharge management of esophageal cancer. The Specialized Committee on Integrated Care for Esophageal Cancer of the Chinese Anti‑Cancer Association has organized multidisciplinary experts in the field of esophageal cancer research in China to jointly discuss and develop the Expert consensus on the whole‑process management of esophageal cancer (2025 edition), which combines clinical practice and evidence‑based evidence from home and abroad to give 20 recommendations on the 4 aspects of the overall management of esophageal cancer, aiming at standardizing the operation process and content of the overall management of esophageal cancer in China, enhancing the quality of medical services, improving the prognosis of patients, and improving the quality of medical services. It aims to standardize the operation process and content of the whole management of esophageal cancer in China, improve the quality of medical service and improve the prognosis of patients.
