Abstract:
Apple Vision Pro (AVP) is a device integrating augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), with its advanced immersive interactive technology gradually being applied in medical education. Since the successful implemention of AVP‑based laparoscopic surgical scenario teaching in April 2024, the team of authors has progressed through an exploratory phase (February to June 2024), an in‑depth research phase (September to December 2024), and has now entered the prac-tical teaching application phase (January 2025 to present). The authors systematically introduce the exploration process, technical advantages, educational outcomes, and future development prospects of AVP in laparoscopic surgery education, further envisioning its potential in medical pedagogy. Technical optimizations, such as adjusting resolution from 1 080×960 pixels to 960×740 pixels to reduce latency from 120 ms to below 100 ms, are detailed. Through the upgrade of the video capture card and processing workstation, the latency is reduced to less than 60 ms at a resolution of 1080p. Quantitative data from 2025 indicate a 15% average improvement in student operation skills and a 9% increase in exam scores compared to traditional methods.
