Abstract: Endoscopic ultrasonography guided pancreatic duct drainage (EUS‑PD) is a novel therapeutic strategy for pancreatic duct obstruction‑induced high‑pressure pancreatic duct. The success rate of EUS‑PD has been steadily going up due to the continual improvement of technique, while the adverse events have been steadily decreasing. As a consequence of this, EUS‑PD has developed into a reliable alternative to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography in cases where the latter has been unsuccessful. The authors review the research progress on EUS‑PD by reviewing relevant literature and combining clinical practices.
