Central venous catheterization is a basic technique in the department of critical care medicine, serving as a pathway for hemodynamic monitoring and fluid infusion. With the advancement of science and technology, new intravascular catheters and auxiliary medical consumables are gradually applied in clinical practice. In order to standardize the management strategy of central venous catheters for critically ill patients, experts from the Chinese Abdominal Intensive Care Association of Asia Society of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine have written the
Chinese expert consensus on management of central venous catheters for critically ill patients (2022 edition), which includes the types and characteristics of catheters, catheter placement and routine maintenance operations, treatment of the catheter-related complications,
etc., in order to provide practical suggestions for clinical work.
