Abstract:
Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is one of the primary liver cancer. The incidence of ICC has been increasing over the past decades globally. The prognosis of ICC is extremely poor due to its difficult early diagnosis, high aggressiveness, and lack of effective treatments. Based on the evidence-based medical evidence obtained from the international studies on ICC in recent years, as well as the clinical practice in our country, the expert group of the Major Special Project of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China formulate the 'Chinese expert consensus on the surgical manage-ment of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (2020 edition)', which has systematically addressed the risk factors, pathogenesis, histopathological features, clinical manifes-tations, diagnostic methods, staging, surgical and adjuvant treatment, and other local, regional and systemic treat-ments of ICC. This consensus is designed to standardize and popularize the diagnosis and multidisciplinary treat-ment of ICC to improve overall prognoses of the disease.
